We’re thrilled to announce that High Point Academy achieved a fantastic “Good” rating in its recent Ofsted inspection! This is a remarkable accomplishment, especially considering it’s our first inspection since opening in September 2021.

We were awarded an “Outstanding” rating in both Personal Development and Behaviour and Attitudes. This is a true testament to the dedication of our entire school community – students, staff, and families – who have worked tirelessly to create a positive and nurturing environment where students can thrive.

- Embracing “ACE” Values: Our core values of Ambition, Challenge, and Encouraging Independence are clearly seen in our students’ approach to learning. They are motivated to excel, ready to tackle challenges, and encouraged to develop their own unique voices and skills.
- Highly Skilled Staff: The report praises our staff’s ability to “understand the barriers to learning for each individual pupil.” This commitment to individualised instruction ensures that all students are supported in reaching their full potential.
- Nurturing a Supportive Environment: Our staff team is also commended for taking the time to “understand and respond sensitively to individual pupils’ behaviours.” This dedication allows us to create a safe and welcoming environment where students feel supported in both academics and personal growth.
- Fostering Diverse Interests: The report recognizes our pupils’ “opportunities to follow their interests and talents.” Through extracurricular activities like music and dance clubs, sports commentary, and more, we provide a well-rounded education that caters to diverse passions.
- Promoting a “love of reading”: It is highlighted that despite pupils arriving with a disinterest in reading our staff manage to “reignite pupils’ love of books and reading”.
Looking Forward with Optimism
While the report highlights our accomplishments, it also acknowledges areas for potential improvement. These include developing a more systematic approach to teaching phonics and ensuring that essential knowledge is identified in all parts of the curriculum and sequenced clearly over time. We are committed to continuous growth and we will be using this feedback to further enhance the learning experience for all our students.
