High Point Academy has been honoured as ‘Secondary School of the Year’ at the Education Awards 2025. This recognition reflects our commitment to inclusivity and exceptional education for children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions in Wednesbury, Sandwell.
We are thrilled to announce that High Point Academy has been awarded the prestigious title of ‘Secondary School of the Year’ at the Education Awards 2025! This recognition not only celebrates the hard work and dedication of our staff but also underscores our commitment to providing exceptional educational experiences for children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and associated learning difficulties.
Since opening in September 2021, High Point Academy has championed an inclusive and nurturing environment that allows students aged 11-16 to thrive. With a unique curriculum tailored to meet the individual needs of each pupil, High Point Academy has established itself as a leader in the specialist education sector.
Simon Dilkes, CEO of Forward Education Trust, expressed his pride in this remarkable achievement:
“I was pleased to be able to nominate High Point Academy in the category Secondary School of the Year at the Education Awards 2025 and delighted that they won. It is a great achievement for a special school to win in this general category. High Point has developed each year responding to the needs of children, and Forward Education Trust has invested in the curriculum, facilities, and resources to create a fabulous school.”
Headteacher Kelly Kulyk reflected on the importance of this award for the entire team:
“It was an absolute honour to collect the award on behalf of all the staff at High Point. I am extremely proud to work with some incredibly dedicated colleagues that go above and beyond for our pupils on a daily basis to ensure that their education and wellbeing is at the centre of all that they do. It has been our mission since opening that we want every pupil to be ‘ACE’, and I feel this award recognises the importance of striving for the best outcomes for our pupils.”
Additionally, during its first Ofsted inspection in May 2024, High Point Academy achieved a ‘good’ rating, with ‘outstanding’ marks for behaviour and attitudes. The inspection report affirmed that “Pupils are happy, safe and well cared for,” highlighting our dedication to meeting the unique needs of every child.
As we look towards the future, High Point Academy is committed to expanding its reach, aiming to educate around 120 pupils while continuing to nurture a community where every child can flourish. This award stands as a testament to our belief that every pupil deserves the very best educational experience possible.
We celebrate this victory not just as an accolade but as motivation to further enhance our services and enrich the lives of our pupils in the years to come. Here’s to the continued success of High Point Academy and the incredible journey ahead!
