We love Red Nose Day here at High Point Academy. Our Children learn about the hardships faced by so many around the world while having a really fun day!
On Friday, our school will be joining people across the UK to celebrate Red Nose Day 2024. It is a special event, encouraging young people to have fun whilst raising money to help others.
All of the proceeds raised by the event are used by the charity to support vulnerable people here and all over the world live free from poverty, violence, and discrimination.
This year we will be doing our bit on Friday 15th March. Students will be able to dress in red / comic relief themed clothing and we will be holding a special event that morning. During the event there will be:
- A cake sale to raise funds.
- A sponsored leg wax with one of our male TAs.
- A dancing area.
- A penalty shoot out.
- And colouring / craft activities for the students to enjoy too.
Since launching the first Red Nose Day in 1985, Comic Relief has helped a staggering number of people, and tens of millions of pounds are raised every year.
This year, the money raised is still as important as ever. You can find out more about where your money goes here: https://www.comicrelief.com/what-your-money-does.
Red Nose Day is much more than just a television spectacle. The event gives us the opportunity to teach our children about the importance of charity, being kind, and helping others.
We would like to thank our children, their families and the local community for all their support, generosity and participation in fundraising events held at the school.
We’re certain that this Red Nose Day will be better than ever so get your noses ready!
